Update on St Win's building

The National Lottery Heritage Fund comes to the rescue!

The National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a grant after a successful bid by St Winfrid's Church to help this Grade 2 listed building get a much-needed new roof, which is in urgent need of repair. The old roof is now causing internal issues to the church and to enable it to have a new life as a thriving part of the community again, it needs to be fully repaird. The successful bid from the National Lottery Heritage Fund was for an amazing quarter of a million pounds.

Scaffolding is going up now, with an aim to start the actual works straight after Easter.  The contractors currently expect to have left the site by 30th October 2019.  The scaffolding will go around 3/4 of the church, just leaving the side down beside the Thistle Hall without scaffolding.   Lottie Tots Street will continue as usual.  The only usable door into the church will be the one currently just used for them.  There will be boarding around the base of the scaffolding for security to prevent people being able to climb onto the scaffolding.
