St Winfrid’s (or St Win’s, as it is affectionately known) is a friendly and welcoming church that celebrates, cares and shares God’s love to its community. It’s a place of warmth and acceptance and we invite you to come and join us in a loving walk of faith. We are one of four churches in the Totton Team Ministry, the other churches being St Mary’s Eling, St Anne’s Calmore and St Matthew’s Netley Marsh. We are active members of Churches Together in Totton and Forest Edge, and the home of the Team Rector. We are a New Wine church providing strong Bible-based teaching. We are part of Winchester Diocese. We have a vision to be at the heart of the community, working in and with the community to provide support, encouragement, resources and compassion to a range of needs.
Our Vicar, who is also the Team Rector, is the Revd Dr Chris Steed who comes to us originally from London and more recently Devon and North Somerset. Chris has a rich background in writing, counselling, education and management consultancy, which makes him the ideal person to take forward our vision of rebuilding and renovating St Win's to make the building a bubbling hub for the community. Our Curate, Graeme Dixon, was ordained in Winchester Cathedral on Sunday 2nd July. Graeme comes to us from Fordingbridge and trained at St Mellitis College in London. We look forward to getting to know Graeme and his wife Steph as they settle into life in the Totton team.
Our Parish Administrator, Mrs Julie Godden, is dependable and resourceful and can always be relied upon for help and information. Julie's a busy wife and mother but she finds time to come to work in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
